like i said before, Lake Tekapo is ranked at the top of my favourite list. Went there again in less than half a year time to enjoy the town in a different season. Of course, this round i had a thorough tour on this place, and its just plain amazing. And just like any other location in New Zealand, the journey itself is enjoyable enough....let me show u the proof....
there is 2 routes to enter Lake Tekapo, and i decided to use the route that cut through Mckenzie region, and here's the reward:
browny hills
and then suddenly a crystal blue lake appeared in front of us. When i said blue, it is REALLY blue. i swear there is no photo editing has been done in any of the pictures that i took in NZ.
the surrounding view is still browny, but greeny pine tree is start appearing along the lake side....
Mt cook is appearing from far. Seeing snow mountain, blue lake, deserted like hill, and pine hills, all at the same things do feel a little bit unreal.....
beginning to feel how insignificant we are when i was driving towards the mountain
decided to took a small walk to check out mt cook in a closer view.
pose pose a bit :)
We stopped at the hanging bridge in this picture. Its just seems to be a never ending walking distance. The river is actually full of calcium carbonate, and hence it is milky colour. Your supplement probably come from here....
After that decided to head off to Lake Tekapo. Its only 45min apart. And along the way picked up a hitchhiker, cant remember where he was from though...its a pretty norm thing, so didnt think much about it.
Went to the almost identical place in Lake Tekapo to snap this picture. night time we went for star gazing, and IT WAS AMAZING!!! for the first time in my life, i got to see the Pluto using the telescope (i think its pluto la), then with just naked eye, we can actually see the whole milky-way! then got to learn a few stars name like the brightest star is call Sirius, and the orion belt plus a few more stuff that i cant remembered. Seriously, i have no idea starry sky can be so beautiful. I bought a CD that has photo taken by the professional, and yet it still failed to capture the whole beautiful night sky. star gazing is a MUST DO in this town, however sadly you can hardly find this recommendation in any travel guide, and that is why i missed out during the first visit.
anyway, the second day i went up again to the small hill that we had star gazing session the night before, to check out how the day view was like it. And man~~
6 o'clock view:
12 o'clock view:
9 o'clock view
it was BEAUTIFUL~~ i just cant have enough of praise for this place. And before leaving the town, we stopped at a salmon farm for fresh salmon. Was to busy eating, didnt snap any picture on the fish, but the view from the farm just kinda assured you that the fish is gonna be yummy
i used another road to head back to Dunedin town. And just as i thought there is no more surprise:
starting to see some green grass again, experience tells something great might be ahead of me...
A huge patch of lavender farm!!!
